Last Week's "Monster Storm"

That's what they actually called it and getting to be home to watch the weather coverage last Friday, Saturday, and Sunday was really exciting . . . eleven feet of snow fell over the four days of storm at Kirkwood and there was so much snow and wind on Highway 80 between Sacto and Reno they had to close it for a while! While it didn't break any records, this storm made it into the record book as one of the biggest storms in more than one aspect.Meanwhile down in our part of the state, the giant storm brought honest-to-goodness real rain - 2.35" in our rain gauge over the three days.

Looking Back at the Holidays: New Year's Eve

We went all-out fancy this year - we partied at a dinner dance at The Clubhouse at Anaheim Hills Golf Course. It was right down the street from Craig and Renee's house - close and so much fun!We joined Renee's friend, Geri, and her family and had a fantastic time eating good food and dancing to a great band, Film at Eleven.

Looking Back at the Holidays: Christmas in Tahoe

The three of us spent Christmas Eve driving north and arrived at Sam and Jenn's house without needing to drive through weather. We had a wonderful Christmas Day and enjoyed a pleasant five days of visiting with Sam and his friends (human, canine, and feline). We got to relax around the house, enjoy the beautiful surroundings and a little fresh snow, and skied at Alpine Meadows and Homewood.Naturally, I took lots of photos and even put together a few videoclips.

Looking Back at the Holidays: Hundley Christmas in Ventura

It was nice to be home and see all three of "the kids" together at one time. Sam flew down on Friday and we had a Christmas celebration on the Saturday before Christmas with Dad, Jane, Ron, Bryan, April and Lindsay!
Ever since Sam moved up north, we have not had everyone together at one time - we only missed Tim and Mary Ann this year.

Tahoma Thanksgiving

Over the river and through the woods . . . . . . . .
Tom and I drove north and had a wonderful Thanksgiving long weekend with Sam and Jenn at their new place.The new place is almost at the end of the road and borders Sugar Pine State Park - a beautiful area for walks in the woods - with or without snow! We even took a moonlight hike up to Eagle Rock and took this picture:
